Police from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja searched the Katampe residence of former Senator Elisha Abbo, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old secondary school student and attempting to assault her 16-year-old sister in the Federal Capital Territory.
A petition submitted by D.I. Aiyedun & Co. to the Inspector General of Police, according to reports, alleges that Abbo not only committed these assaults but also intimidated the victims and their family.
The search took place shortly after Abbo was briefly detained and released on bail on Friday, reportedly due to intervention by influential political figures.

A source stated, “When the detectives arrived at his home, the minor and her family members were also present. They reportedly found Senator Abbo calmly seated in his living room, a free man despite the seriousness of the allegations.”
During the visit, Abbo’s wife acknowledged knowing the minor and heard her describe the specific location in the house where the alleged assault occurred.
However, Mrs. Abbo reportedly accused the minor of stealing her gold jewelry, escalating the situation, according to SaharaReporters.
The detectives had the minor’s family sign documents before leaving. The petition, addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police – Gender at the FCID, details a disturbing account of abuse and threats allegedly perpetrated by Abbo and his associates against 13-year-old Khadija Muhammad and her 16-year-old sister, Fatima Muhammad.
Abbo surrendered to the FCID following the petition. The victims’ parents claimed that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed “Binani,” a former senator and Adamawa governorship candidate, visited their home to urge them to keep the matter quiet.
They also alleged that Abbo sent money to the girls’ father to suppress the issue. The petition states that the primary incident occurred on June 29, 2025, at Abbo’s residence in Katampe Extension. Khadija was allegedly lured there by Nafisa Mohammed Chigli, a 17-year-old associate of Abbo.
“The suspect attempted to undress her, overpowered her resistance, applied baby oil to his manhood, and attempted to forcibly penetrate her vagina,” the petition states.
It adds, “After the act, he cleaned his semen-soaked genitals with a white cloth. She later informed her father of the horrific assault, but who blamed her and took no action.”
Fatima was allegedly targeted in a similar scheme by Zara Muhammad Chigli but escaped before the assault could be completed.
“In a nearly identical scheme, the victim’s sister, Fatima Muhammad, was lured to the suspect’s residence by Zara Muhammad Chigli,” the petition notes.
“The suspect attempted to sexually assault her as well. She managed to escape the situation before the assault could be completed, but the attempt itself is a grave crime that demonstrates a repeated pattern of predatory behaviour.”
Evidence includes a medical report from Deda Hospital, signed by Dr. Kehinde Duromola, dated July 11, 2025, noting bruising consistent with sexual assault. The report for Khadija, hospital number 31161, states, “Patient presented to our facility on 10th of July, 2025 with complaint of rape following a visit to a friend’s house about a week earlier. On examination, she was found to be anxious.”
It further notes a “bruise around the posterior fourchette,” with the gynecologist stating, “impression of sexual assault cannot be ruled out.”
Additional evidence includes a N200,000 transfer on July 1, 2025, from Hassan Kure Musa, an associate of Abbo, to the victim’s father’s driver, cited as a bribery attempt.
A video from the car ride home after the incident is reportedly in the victim’s possession. The petition highlights Khadija’s severe psychological trauma, including suicidal thoughts, as documented in emails to her school coach.
The coach noted, “From the time of the attack until now, the child has been suffering from various persistent illnesses that doctors have not been able to diagnose, which are consistent with the somatic manifestations of severe psychological trauma.”
They added, “She is severely traumatised and has not been able to associate well with her friends, leading to complete social withdrawal.”
Khadija wrote, “I feel worthless, unloved, invisible and so alone… I feel trapped in my own mind, my own pain and it’s exhausting just to exist.”
She also confessed, “I’m having suicidal thoughts I don’t know how much longer I can keep going… I feel like I’m drowning in everything that has happened… I feel like im a burden and think that everyone is better off without me.”
The petition alleges Abbo threatened to release nude photos of Khadija and made death threats against her and her mother.
Abbo has a history of controversy, including an arrest for assaulting a vendor at a sex shop in Abuja and accusations of blackmailing a married woman with a sex tape.
He was removed from the Senate in October 2023 after a court declared his election invalid.
