I knelt down in court begging my wife not to divorce me – Emeka Ike *I lost everything marrying her
“You have to be a very successful man to be a woman beater, , because no carpenter or poor man is a woman beater, and there are people like Iyabo ojo to back them up,” were the words of Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, as he relived his experience years back after being accused of being a woman-beater.
In a no-holds-barred interview about his problem with his estranged wife, the prolific actor, recounted how he lost everything he had, including a private school worth N480million he was running, which was shut down during the period of up and downs with his wife, whom he said was behind the negative stories being concocted against him.
A guest on Rubbin Minds, an entertainment programme on Channels Television, showcasing prime interviews with mostly Nigerian celebrities, the actor whose marriage was dissolved by a Lagos Island Customary Court on March , 2017, over allegation of incessant battery, denied ever laying his hands on his wife, adding that his marital issues got him depressed for a very long time.
Hear him: “I didn’t come on the internet space to clarify the allegations against me because it’s difficult to clarify because the same people that were bullying me on the internet, they were still there. They are gonna say, ‘Don’t mind him. He is still missing her. Move on.’
“And if you’re not prepared to handle it, you will be crushed. My secondary school, St. Nicholas College, on CMD road, Magodo, was shut down. Over N480 million investment that year was shut down. And all I heard was constant battery. I was like, ‘I don’t beat this lady. What’s going on? Babe, what’s going on? They said I beat you, do I?’
“And she [my ex-wife] said, ‘No. But you’re a star, you know, they can always manipulate things and all that.’ So, I was gullible until I discovered that she was actually the one behind all this whole thing. Some ladies are too desperate for marriage legally. And she actually told me one time that I am not the marriage type. And I didn’t understand it. So, the young men need to know that there are plenty ladies that are not the marriage type lately.”
“I sponsored her higher education but didn’t know that I wasn’t “loved in return. She [my ex-wife] went to divorce herself. She said, ‘Judge, please, divorce me, I want to go.’ I said, ‘Kilode? Where are you going?’ I was on my knees. Felix Duke was on his knees. My sisters were on their knees in court. Even the people that came with my ex-wife to court were on their knees. They said, ‘Are you okay? What’s wrong with you?’ We didn’t understand what was going on in her psychology,” he recalled.
Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video showing his wife, actress Regina Daniels, in distress, describing her recent behaviour as a result of “drug-influenced” actions.
In a post accompanied by a short video on his Instagram page, Nwoko alleged that the actress was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, which he claimed had caused turbulence in their marriage.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem.
“She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” he wrote.
According to the senator, the actress recently went on a violent rampage in his absence, assaulting domestic staff and damaging property.
“She slapped and hit three staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows, for no just cause.
“Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs,” he alleged.
Nwoko said he had offered his wife two rehabilitation options—in Asokoro and Jordan—“where she will not have access to drugs,” but claimed her associates continued to worsen the situation.
“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier.
“Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” he alleged.
The senator’s statement followed a viral clip showing Regina Daniels in a heated confrontation, during which she was heard saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
Her brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, popularly known as Sammy West, later accused Nwoko of violence against his sister, writing on Instagram, “Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood.”
Neither Regina Daniels nor her representatives have responded publicly to the senator’s claims. The couple, married since 2019, have long been in the spotlight due to their age difference and high-profile public life.
Tiwa Savage, the renowned singer, disclosed that she originally dismissed “Dorobucci,” a major hit from Mavin Records, as a poor track when she first encountered it, not realizing she would end up contributing to it.
During a NotJustOk interview released on Monday, the celebrated performer remembered how Don Jazzy kept looping the song in a Dubai hotel while she was on her wedding getaway.

“Don’t know if people know this, but Dorobucci, I had Don Jazzy playing that in the hotel when we were in Dubai for my wedding and I didn’t want to tell him, but I thought it was such a crap song,” she said.
Tiwa described how Don Jazzy repeatedly played the tune during the trip, without her knowing it was being crafted for the Mavin team.
“And so after the wedding, he asked me when I was going to come back and I need to come back. And I was like, no, I think we’re supposed to go on our honeymoon.
“He’s like, eh, there’s one record, you have to come back to Nigeria,”Tiwa recounted.
She shared that upon arriving back in Nigeria and listening to the complete track in the studio, she was completely taken aback.
“I got back to Nigeria and I got to the studio and I heard the song that I heard him play in Dubai. I was flabbergasted.
“I was so angry, like, I don’t know, because this had happened with Eminado too and I did not like it,” she said.
Tiwa mentioned that she recorded her part last because she doubted the song’s viability.
“I was the last person to record my verse because I was just looking at everybody in the studio, like, do you guys like this really?
“So everybody had recorded it and then I was just the last person to record it,” she said.
Even though she was hesitant at first, the track achieved enormous popularity.
“We all know what happened to the record. I don’t know what Don Jazzy does, but yeah, that was… I heard it and I didn’t want to tell him.
“I was like, man, who, I was like, is it Reekado he’s doing this song for? Is it Korede or D’Prince?
“I was just thinking, ehyaa, like these people, not knowing that I was going to be on the song as well. And it turned out to be phenomenal. So shout out as always to Don Jazzy,” Tiwa concluded.

With this triumph, Imisi joins the exclusive cohort of Big Brother Naija winners, succeeding KellyRae, who won the Season 9 “No Loose Gua rd” show.
