A letter by popular Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie, with which he tendered a moving apology to his first wife, May Edochie, after taking a second wife, currently trending on the social media, seems to underscore the turn of events in the home of the versatile Nollywood star.

Yul, scion of veteran actor and broadcaster, Pete Edochie, had stirred controversy with his decision to father a child with another woman, Judy Austin Muoghalu, a colleague in the movie industry, whom he went ahead to marry as a second wife.

Against the backdrop of a reported feeling of betrayal by the first wife and the mother of his four, who also used the social media to air her feelings, attracting lots of sympathy from a groundswell of the public, Yul, seems to be making a detour from his original seeming remorseless attitude.

In a lengthy, but emotional epistle via his official Instagram account on Wednesday afternoon, penned down his feelings, taking the blame for his actions and asking for forgiveness.

He wrote: “To my dear wife, Queen May Yul-Edochie, l acknowledge that I hurt you deeply and I’ve apologized to you countless times. I take the blame for my actions.

l agree with you that polygamy shouldn’t be forced on anyone. You never bargained for it from the beginning neither did I. ButI guess life happens. You already know the whole story.”

“I didn’t do it to disrespect you, I didn’t do it to replace you nor because I do not love you anymore, no. I have always loved you and always will. i‘ve been a good husband and a wonderful father.

I’ve supported all your hustle from day one, I have been an exceptional father to our children till date making sure they lack nothing and always there for everyone. Out of 100 I have dorne 99 things right, hating me because of one thing isn’t the best.

“Nobody is perfect. l’m not. You’re not. Nobody is, except God. I assure you that nobody is trying to take your place.

I have apologized to you countless times sincerely from my heart. I’m sorry. I’ve always loved you and always will. Butuo nwanyi oma. We can live peacefully and happily.”
