TRAGEDY: Wicked woman wipes out four stepchildren with poison-laced tea

Khadija Yakubu, a 22-year-old housewife, has allegedly is currently in police net for allegedly killing four stepchildren, according to authorities of the Yobe State Police Command in a statement on Friday.

The culprit was said to have committed the dastardly act with poison at Makara-Huta area of Potiskum, the Yobe State capital in the early hours of Friday, by lacing the tea he served to the victims with poison.

Police spokesman in the state, Dungus Abdulkarim, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) who confirmed the incident, stated that the suspect has been apprehended and full investigation was going on at the end of which the alleged culprit would face the full weight of the law.

“Findings at hand indicated that the children have been rushed to hospital after taking the tea prepared by the said suspect in the early hours of today at about 0900hrs, 17 Sep, 2021, but three of the victims died while receiving treatments and one remained unconscious.

“Alhaji Haruna, who is the husband to the said suspect of the same area in Potiskum, reported the incident to the police at about 1300hrs,” he said, while giving the names of the victims as Umar Alh Haruna, aged 12; Ahmed Alh Haruna, aged 9; Maryam Alh Haruna, aged 11 as well as a 7-year-old Zainab Alh Haruna.
