FG orders probe into Lagos train accident, sympathises with victims

The Federal Government, moved quickly on Thursday to get to the bottom of the cause of the train accident, which crushed a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus in Lagos, in which no fewer than six people have been confirmed dead and about 80 others injured.

Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation directed the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau(NSIB) experts to commence Immediate investigation into the accident, which involved workers of the Lagos State Government on their way to their office in Alausa.

The Minister, who described the accident as unfortunate, assured the public of the capacity of the NSIB to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the accident and proffer ways of preventing such in the future, while urging for maximum cooperation of members of the public to the investigation process.

He commiserated with the government and Lagos resident, especially those who have lost their loved ones and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the accident.
